After seeing devastating images of the earthquake on January 12th, Berliners will finally have the opportunity experience another side of Haiti, its culture and its people.

Haiti Lives!

Although virtually unknown, Haiti ’s cultural scene thrives from a diverse tradition of literature, oral storytelling, art, music and film.

Jacmel is considered Haiti’s cultural capital and it is also known for its quaint 19th century European architecture and breathtaking coasts. As a result of the earthquake, 65% of Jacmel was destroyed.

This evening hopes to bring attention to a city that breathes the rich culture of Haiti while helping its children. All proceeds from this evening go to the destroyed orphanage „Centre des Jeunes“/Fondation J.A. Clermont and other orphans in the southern coastal city of Jacmel.

Presented by: Jacques A. Clermont Memorial Foundation and Hilfe für Waisenkinder in Haiti (Verein i.G.) in cooperation with Babylon and Barbarella Entertainment with support from Freie Mediale Stiftung – Open Media Foundation, Barcomis Bakery and Deli and many other generous organizations.
